Monic's story

Monic, aged 60, is a widow with two children.

She is in agriculture, majoring in cattle farming as her main source of income. Her income comes from the cattle trade, with the largest portion from milk selling. To supplement her income, she carries grows food crops on a small scale and also for her family's consumption.

Monic was initially carrying out farming as a hobby, but when she lost her husband, she decided to make it an economic activity to fend for her children. With the money she gets from farming, Monic has managed to provide for her children and also educate them up to the advanced level.

She has applied for a loan of 2,700,000 UGX from UGAFODE to buy dairy cows. She is confident that the milk production will increase, as well as her income, thus making her financially able to sustain her family.
