Doris Violeta's story

The city of Portoviejo was affected by the earthquake on April 16, 2016. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption. Doris is 51 years old. She is in a common-law marriage. She has 4 children. Three are adults, and the minor is a 15-year-old who is in school. Her husband hauls freight in a truck. They live in their own house. In order to move her family forward and contribute to the household expenses, Doris raises and sells chickens. She raises them in order to sell them alive or butchered, depending on what her customers ask her for. Her children and husband help her with various tasks such as feeding them, cleaning, etc. With this new loan, she will buy animal feed, small chickens, vaccinations, vitamins, etc. Her dream is to have a poultry farm.
