A loan helped to purchase fruit to increase her juice sales.

Nohelia's story

Nohelia is a 49-year-old woman. She lives in the parish of Sagrario, the canton of Ibarra, and the province of Imbabura. Nohelia is of Colombian nationality. She has lived in Ecuador for approximately 10 years. She has two daughters. One of them is married and lives in Quito. Her other daughter is 18 years old and is in her first year at the university. She wants to be a nurse like her sister.

Nohelia traveled to Ecuador to improve her living conditions because of the insecurity and the economy in her country, and because jobs are very difficult to find there. By moving to Ecuador, she has managed to give her daughters an education.

Nohelia has earned a living selling juices and fast foods for four years. Her cooking is very good, so she has a large number of customers. She needs a loan to increase her juice sales by buying more fruit since her orders increase during the summer season. Nohelia is very grateful for the help that Kiva is giving her to improve her living conditions.
