Kabeyia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me to cover moving expenses and upgrade furniture for a new, wheelchair-accessible office.
In 2016 I was unexpectedly laid of from a job that I planned to retire from, along with several other colleagues. As a single mother of 3 young men, (one of whom I adopted) I knew that I needed to either find employment or step out on faith to start my own business. Soon after I contracted with a non-profit organization to take over their Accounting, Human Resources and Admin needs. After 6 months I finalized another contract to work with a religious organization. And in a years time I picked up 2 more contracts. I was very grateful for the word of mouth recommendations my clients were making - it let me know they were pleased with my service but that they trusted I could assist others in need with my services! Initially after my lay off, I almost felt hopeless wondering where I would find good employment. With some prayer and reflection I knew that I needed to make a tough decision to start my own business. I look to continue to work with my clients, expand and leave a legacy for my 3 young men. The hardest step is the one you can't see, and starting out I wasn't sure if there was a market for a small business such as mine. As I grow and expand I hope to inspire someone else to take a leap of faith and start the business they've always dreamed of!
