Cristo Salva : Grupo 3 Group's story

Leomene is a Haitian immigrant woman who arrived in the Dominican Republic in search of better living conditions. Leomene lives in a batey in the province of La Romana. Despite being a very touristic province for its lovely beaches and resorts, La Romana also has very impoverished communities such as the bateys, where people, primarily Haitian immigrants, live in extreme poverty.

Leomene is a young mother who began with her business selling food, but with time this did not give her a lot of profit, and she decided to change and establish a business selling clothing, where she sells skirts, dresses, shirts, pants, blouses, and other things. Leomene has now been in this business for three years and says that, with the profits, it gives her, she can help in her household.

Leomene says that there are challenges in her business when the sugar cane harvest ends but, to date, it has gone well for her with the business selling clothing.

Leomene dreams of one day having a house in the city and of seeing her family in better conditions.

Leomene needs your help to purchase new merchandise and stock her business.
