Ruth Elizabeth's story

The inhabitants of the Los Ángeles area in the Colon parish in the city of Portoviejo devote themselves to various business activities like agriculture and general commerce.

Ruth, age 60, is married and has seven grown and independent children. Her husband is a driver and has a dump truck. They live in their own house.

In order to continue helping with part of the household expenses, Ruth has set up a small store at her house. She sells a great variety of mass consumption products, household items, stationery items, drinks, and ice cream. She works every day from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m and sometimes even later. Her granddaughter, who spends a lot of time with her, helps her with the sales.

With this new loan she will buy a computer that her granddaughter needs for school. She is given a lot of research, and she will be able to get good grades.

Her dream is for her business to continue growing and for her granddaughter to become a professional.
