Pauline's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereals, such as maize, that she will sell to the readily available market in her village, make profits and improve her living conditions.

Pauline's story

Hello, lenders. Meet Pauline (a 67-year-old mom of four; among them one is school-going), a very industrious and hardworking farmer. She comes from the Bomet area of Kenya, near the famous Rift Valley escarpment (a major tourist attraction site in Kenya).

Pauline has been farming for the past few years. Through these years she has gathered much experience. She is considered among the best farmers in her village. She has been practicing mixed farming. Her primary sources of income have been milk and crop farming. Pauline is very passionate about farming and loves cultivating her farm. That is why every day she wakes up very early to go to her farm to plow.

Although she makes profits from farming, she is not comfortable and has always wanted to increase her income by selling cereals. That is why she is seeking this loan. Kenya's Bomet area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Pauline could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Pauline, but now she feels relieved because Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva lenders to help hardworking farmers like her to turn their farming dreams into reality, through training and loan financing.

Be inspired and kindly lend to her!
