Elizabeth's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy an additional dairy cow to meet the overwhelming demand for milk in her village and make profits to support her four children.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is not new to this platform. She is a mother of four children who are her greatest motivators in life. Elizabeth was brought up in one of the poorest homes in her village in Nyahururu, Kenya. She uses a smile as her way of forgetting the hurdles she has gone through in the past. Nyahururu is a region endowed with seasonal streams and green vegetation. Elizabeth had sustained contact with her parents, thus allowing her to grasp farming skills from them. These skills shaped her and equipped her to be the very knowledgeable farmer that she is. On her farm, she grows vegetables and keeps dairy cows. She sells milk, eggs, and maize, and when she is not farming, Elizabeth does some side business. She lacks funds to increase her dairy farming and is seeking a loan of 90,000 KES to buy an additional dairy cow.

Accessing funds for smallholders without collateral security is not an easy task, but through institutions such as Juhudi Kilimo via Kiva, she feels relieved knowing that her dream will be achieved and that she will be able to buy an additional dairy cow. The extra income she will get will be used to fully repay the loan. Elizabeth is very thankful for your contribution in advance.
