Sisilia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more pandanus for her weaving business and also hibiscus skin for making the faka-ha'apai.

Sisilia's story

Sisilia is 33 years old, from the island of Ha'apai. She is a single mother of two, and they live in their own home, with her mother. Her eldest child attends primary, while the younger one stays with her at home.

Her business includes weaving and making the faka-ha'apai. She does it by herself and with the help of her mother. They weave ta'ovala of any kind. She also makes faka-ha'apai in different colors and styles. faka-ha'apai is a traditional type of kiekie of the Ha'apai people. She then sells her products to Tongatapu, to be sold at the local market in the capital.

She makes good earnings from her business, because the products she makes are very beautiful and are good quality. Not only is it the main source of income for her family, but it is also a part of her life as she saw her mother doing it while she was still a child, and now, she is doing it herself as her way of earning a living.

Her vision is to continue on running her business and make herself a successful business woman.
