Matelita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to import more goods for her retail store and also to buy mullberry for her tapa making business.

Matelita's story

Matelita is a 49 year old mother of four from the Western area of Tonga tapu. She is married to a farmer and they live in their own home. Her business includes a retail store and a tapa making business. She runs the retail store on her own in their own home. The store is located in their front yard. As for her tapa making business, she is doing it together with a group of women in their village. They conduct the tapa making only once a week, where they make lots of tapa of different types and size. She exports her finished tapa overseas. The retail store runs every day except for Sunday. Matelita's business is running very actively, acting as the main source of income for her family. Her vision is to continue running her business, making more savings to build a better house for her family.
