Esther's story
Esther is a 31 year-old woman who is married with five children and they live in a community in Honiara, capital of Solomon Island.
She has small marketing business making and selling fish and chips, fish cakes, pop corns and cold drinks in her community and at the market to earn a living. She has been doing this for four years. To earn additional living, she also has a clothing business selling sewing dresses and blouses at the market.
Esther has requested a new loan to pay for cooking oils, flour, drinking cooler and ice cubes to increase her supplies and assist her in maintaining her food marketing business and fabrics for her clothing business.
She plans to use the profits from her sales to meet her family's expenses and help pay for her children's school fees.
She joined SPBD in 2019 and this is her first loan.
