Gloria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase weaves, hair lotions, body cosmetics treatment, and a hair dryer.

Gloria's story

Gloria's group comprises hard working women. Gloria is 25 years old and she lives in the town of Kaliro in the Iganga region of Uganda. She is married and has one child. For the past two years, Gloria has been working hard to manage her beauty salon where she primarily offers hair dressing service.

To help expand her business, Gloria has requested a loan of 1,600,000 UGX from BRAC, Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase weaves, hair lotions, body cosmetic treatments and a hair dryer to attract more customers. It will help her to generate greater profits.

She also requires to spend on basic home products like sugar, soap, and clothes for her child. Gloria hopes that in the future she will be able to build apartments for business.

Gloria is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skill training.
