Gladys's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as fertilizer and quality seeds, that will generate income for this mother of five who always has a golden smile.

Gladys's story

Gladys (pictured wearing a golden smile) is a mother of five children who believes that farming is one of the most successful ventures. She has five children and four of them are in school. In 2019, she is working hard towards happiness and success. She is a forward-looking woman who works hard to give her family a better life. She lives in Kitale, a town that was significantly stuck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis when violence occurred in Kenya.

With this loan, Gladys will be able to purchase high-quality seed and good fertilizer, which she will use to greatly improve her crop production. Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and high-quality seeds will assure her a bumper harvest and increased profits. Gladys believes that through this loan she will be able to give her children a solid educational background.

Unlike local money lenders who charge exorbitant interest on loans, Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aims at improving the lives of small-holder farmers by providing them with loans and encouraging them to save. This loan will play a key role in lifting Gladys out of poverty. Make a $25 loan or more and push her dream closer to reality.
