A loan helped to buy another freezer and 2 boxes of bags, and to save money to improve her family's living conditions.

Minata's story

Minuta is a talented 45 year old woman who has experience in the sale of balls of ice. She has 5 children between the ages of 10 and 22 who all go to school. She is a shopkeeper and she has been making ice in her courtyard in a neighbourhood of the capital city for the past 15 years.

This is her sixth loan with Yikri and she has repaid her first Kiva loan without problems. She is asking for a new loan to buy another freezer and 2 boxes of bags in order to increase her production of ice and retail it to her customers during this hot period. She wants to reinvest the profits in her business and to save money to improve her family's living conditions. She thanks Yikri and its partners for the support they provide to entrepreneurs who cannot access bank financing. Thanks to the Yikri loans, she is managing to improve her family's living conditions.
