Th_Philomene Group's story

This Banc Villageois, set up in February 2000, brings together these six good women who live in the same village. They share strong values of kinship, neighborliness, and solidarity. They have a good understanding of taking out loans and paying back on the deadline. Their main jobs are raising animals and commerce.

Philomène is 61 years old and standing on the right of the photo. She is the representative. She is a widow and the mother of seven children, two of whom are boys. Philomène runs a pig feeding business. She stocks up in the village and the surrounding areas. She does her job at home and has more than 20 years of experience. With her loan she will buy two pigs, two sacks of livestock feed, and pay for veterinary services.

She manages to sell off all of her finished products because she has a good customer base. Her profits will serve to take care of her needs and to help her children.
