A loan helped To purchase fish nets, rope, and additional raw materials.
Flora is 40 years old and married with four children. Three of her children are in high school and one is attending elementary school. Flora lives with her family in the province of Rizal in the Philippines. Her husband works long hours as a fisherman to support the family. To supply additional income, Flora wants to expand the family fishing business through additional working capital. Flora would like to receive a loan of 10,000 PHP to purchase fish nets, rope, and additional raw materials. With additional equipment, Flora believes that her fish supply will increase, providing higher revenue and profits for the family’s retail business. A member of ASHI since 2009, Flora has achieved strong performance with regular attendance at group meetings and steady repayments. Flora is thankful for access to capital and loans to support her entrepreneurial dreams. With the support of ASHI and Kiva, she is hopeful that their expanded business will continue to flourish to improve the family’s quality of life and fund all of her children’s college education. About ASHI: Ahon sa Hirap Inc. (ASHI) has the distinction of being the oldest existing replication of the Grameen Bank Approach (GBA) to credit delivery to the most poor in the Philippines. With its outstanding achievements over the years, it has become one of the role models in credit delivery to the poor in the country.
