A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase milk sales to a dairy processing plant.

Alina's story

Alina, 29 years old, married and a mother of 2 children. She has a college degree. Alina has been raising livestock and farming since 1998 and this is the main source of income for the family. Since they started, Alina and her husband have been able to expand their farm to 18 cows, 100 sheep, 4 horses as well as 4.4 hectares of farm land used to grow hey. Alina has a contract for organic milk delivery with the local dairy factory. The steady income allows Alina to consistently invest and expand her farming business. She would like to use the contract as collateral for a loan from "Bai-Tushum" micro loan bank. This loan of 200,000 som (KGS) will be used to buy two dairy cows and increase the volume of milk delivery to the dairy plant. The extra paycheck from the dairy factory will then be deposited to "Bai-Tushum" bank account and the loan interest automatically deducted. Profit from this loan will help Alina to continue expanding her farm in the future and pay for her children's education.
