Mary's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more rice, drinks, milk and other items to sell.

Mary's story

Meet Mary, she is 45 years old and a widow with 4 children, aged between 16 through 26 years. They are schooling. Mary is a high school graduate.

Mary runs a business in a shop selling rice, drinks, milk and other items. She got her start-up capital from her late husband and her mother taught her how to sell.

Mary has been a trader for 17 years and describes herself as hardworking business woman. She has had no problems with her business. She transports supplies to her business site by the use of a car. Mary sells 11 hours per day; Monday through Saturday. She says she likes her business because it pays her children's school fees.

To continue selling, Mary applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Field Partner. The loan will be used to purchase more rice, drinks, milk and other items to sell.

In the future, Mary wants to build more shops and continue her children's education. She wishes to say thanks.
