Sifa's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase for more sacks of maize flour, cassava flour and beans.

Sifa's story

Sifa is 17 years old and lives in the town of Isingiro in the Mbarara region of Uganda. For the past 2 years, Sifa has been working hard to manage her produce store, which sells cassava, flour, maize flour, and beans.

To help expand her business, Sifa has requested a loan of 500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase sacks of maize flour, cassava flour, and beans to increase on her sales.

This will help Siifa to generate greater profits as her production and revenue will increase. She will use the profits to buy food for her family and clothes for herself.

Sifa hopes that, in the future, she will be able to attend styling and a tailoring course.

Sifa is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities and a forum for life-skills training.
