Rosine's story

Rosine D. was born December 12, 1960, and has been living for the past six years in the Allomey area of Allada, in the Department of the Atlantic. Married to Jocelyn DJIDO, a driver, Rosine is the mother of five children, all having had schooling. Only three of the children live with her in the Allomey area, and the couple shares the various household expenses. To meet her needs and those of her children, Rosine sells dental care sticks, shoes and jewelry at the Allada market. She gets her supplies from Dantokpa, Benin’s international market, and also from Lomé in neighboring Togo. Rosine has been pursuing this activity for the past four years, and has already been granted two loans from ALIDé, both of which were duly reimbursed. She is now requesting a third loan, to increase her stock of supplies and generate more income.
