Teresia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs such as fertilizers and hybrid seeds to boost the quality of her produce, earn more profits, and assure her children of a quality education.

Teresia's story

Teresia is a forward-looking mother with a clear insight into her purpose and who always dreams of making the world a better place. She works by looking after her farm. Living in a poor country has never been an excuse for Teresia who has been practicing mixed farming for the past four years. She lives in the Nyahururu area of Kenya.

The quality of Teresia’s crops has dwindled due to the use of poor farm inputs. Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, allocation by the government of fertilizers, and seeds is way below the needs of farmers.

Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in the availability of farm inputs.

Teresia is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use on her farm to improve her harvest.

Teresia is assured of a bumper harvest, which will open new markets for her crops and, subsequently, increase her profits.
