Devwe's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to allow members to purchase cloth and dressmaking supplies to sell.

Devwe's story

Claudie is a female member of a rural entity named "Devwe" meaning "The devoted ones". Thanks to her leadership, the group has grown and currently has 30 people, mostly women. One hundred percent of the members are farmers, but they also sell at the flea markets on a weekly basis.

The problem the group currently faces is that the capital that is loaned out to a few group members becomes unavailable for other members to use until savings are stored up the following week or when monthly installments are made. For this reason, they need additional capital to increase credit rotation within the group.

This loan will allow 30% of the members to have access to cash for their businesses so that they can purchase cloth and dressmaking supplies to sell. As they do not have access to formal banks, the members of the group will also use that money to create wealth for themselves and their community.

The committee board members appear in the photo, from left to right, as follows: Claudie (president), Robernose (member), Jovelson (secretary), Sadail (member), and Guechena (member).
