Rose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more wielding oxide glue for furniture to support her business.

Rose's story

Rose is 24 years old and lives in the town of Makindye in the Makidye region of Uganda. She is married and has two children. For the past year, Rose has been working hard to manage her welding store, which welds beds.

To help expand her business, Rose has requested a loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more welding oxide glue for furniture items to support the business. This will help Rose generate greater profits and manage to have enough stock of items in the store so as to make more beds and chairs for sale. Rose hopes that in the future she will be able to build a house.

Rose is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities and a forum for life-skills training.
