Paea's story

Paea is 42 years old and mother of four children, two of whom are currently attending school. Her husband is a fisherman while Paea runs her weaving business. There are eight of them are living together in their owned home. She applied for a loan from SPBD and used it to buy some more pandanus for weaving. She's self-employed, weaving her ta'ovala alone .She's very quick in weaving, capable of finishing two ta'ovala a month to sell to her customers. When she finishes a weaving, she sells it. Her ta'ovala prices depend on their size.She uses her income to help her family and also for her weekly loan repayments. Paea puts an effort into running her business to help her husband in their family's living. She only faces challenges when she fails to meet customer demand. She's working hard to achieve her goals to continue the benefit of her business for her family in order for a better future for her children in their education.
