Josefina America

Crucita, Manabí Province, Ecuador / Agriculture

Josefina America's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a sowing kit (certified seeds, urea, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides) and to pay workers' wages.

Josefina America's story

Crucita is a small fishing village a few minutes from the capital. Its main industries are artisanal and industrial fishing and agriculture.

Josefina America is 53 years old. She is married and has 4 children, all of legal age and independent. Her husband is a farmer. She lives in her own home.

Josefina and her husband grow rice. The land where they sow is rented. This is done throughout the year. Two hard working day laborers help them, and they get paid weekly. They work all day and either sell the rice directly where they have the crops or take it to be processed.

With this new loan she will buy a sowing kit (certified seeds, urea, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides) and also pay workers' wages.

Her dream is to have her own land to continue farming.
