Puerta Del Cielo 2 Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy merchandise such as fried meat, "yaniqueque" [jonnycakes], sausage, eggs, corn bread, and juice among others to stock her café.

Puerta Del Cielo 2 Group's story

Belkys is known as a helpful, cooperative woman, and she lives in a batey in La Romana province, the Dominican Republic. Despite being a very touristic province with beautiful beaches and resorts, there are also very impoverished communities such as the bateyes where mostly Haitian immigrants live.

Belkys is the mother of two children who motivate her to go out each day and support her family.

Belkys had a small grocery store where she sold various types of products, but she wasn’t earning much profit, so she decided to open a café to generate better income because meals sell better. In her café, Belkys sells fried meats, “janiqueque” [jonnycakes], sausage, eggs, corn bread, and juice among other items.

Belkys couldn’t attend college; she has only a primary school education. The lack of job opportunities due to very limited education means many people like Belkys are forced to start various types of businesses to support their families.

Belkys needs your help to buy new merchandise and stock her business and continue generating income. Thank you for contributing to Puerta El Cielo 2.
