Alicia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped me hire essential services related to audiovisual production and providers to expand operations and reach more communities.
My name is Alicia Morales Rosado and everybody calls me "Prisma". 8 years ago I made a decision that transformed my life forever. I had the privilege of becoming Doula. A Doula is a woman who cares for, supports and accompanies pregnant women in the process of giving birth. After finishing my bachelor's degree in Adapted Physical Education at the University of Puerto Rico at the Bayamón Campus, the interest for the health of my special education students led me to know the importance of prenatal care and women's health. Although my first experience as a Doula was when I was 17 years old, at 24 I got the opportunity to turn my passion into a profession of protecting pregnancy. I am a Birth and Postpartum Certified Doula and Perinatal Educator of Doula Caribe Internacional, the school that nurtured my love for pregnancy. This is how the 10 Centímetros concept was born, building with my hands the dilatation anatomical models so my partners doulas and midwives in different countries can teach about labor. The union of art with pregnancy are the greatest inspiration of my life, that is why I bless the birth of many babies by painting the bellies of their mothers. Today I am 32 years old and I have been able to attend many families; accompany and educate them in the development of their pregnancies, also in births at home and hospital births. I’m working hard to grow as a businesswoman and to reach a lot of families so we can have the best pregnancy and birth experiences.
