Mahawa's story

Mahawa is 40 years old and a client of the Grassfield branch. She is a married woman with three children between the ages of 4 and 19.

Mahawa as a retail shop where she sells provisions, toiletries, cosmetics, drinks, water, and other items to the customers in her community. She has been in business for six years and works 15 hours per day, seven days a week. Her husband provides an additional source of income. The main challenge she faces is dealing with slow sales during the rainy season.

Mahawa is requesting this loan from BRAC to buy more provisions, toiletries, cosmetics, drinks, water, and other assorted items to increase her business. She says that the extra income that results from this loan will be used to educate her children. Within the next five years, she wants to expand internationally. She expresses her thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
