Abeteraine Kyenkonge Group's story

Joseph is a member of Abeteraine Kyenkonge Group. He is a courageous married man, 23 years old, living in Kagadi, Uganda with a child still too young to study.

He is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more cassava flour, cooking oil, and yellow bananas for making pancakes to sell. This man is involved in several economic activities as long as he earns a profit, no matter how small it is. He put efforts into making and selling pancakes. It is a business that has worked for him to get money for his family's needs.

He started small and has extended to grain buying and selling (beans, maize, groundnuts) alongside farming for commercial and consumption purposes for over eight years. Following his dropping out of school, he got means to earn a living and generate income, preparing for his children's education because he left studying due to school fees challenges.

He works hard to expand his businesses to earn big, even though he faces challenges like competition, unstable prices for agricultural produce and, above all, a small capital base which hinders his progress.
