Annet's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy millet flour to prepare more bushera [a drink made from millet flour and water] to sell.

Annet's story

Annet is 44 years old, married and has four children. The family lives in the Kabarole district of Uganda. Her husband earns only a little income, and Annet does grow bananas, but it is not enough. She has found it hard to keep begging for money to look after her family and their needs.

In the face of this challenge, Annet decided to embark on a new enterprise to earn more money to look after her children. She makes bushera, a traditional beverage made from boiled millet flour and water and sells it from her small home. She organized her house in a way for customers to come have a refreshing drink. She is, however, challenged by inadequate capital to improve her business.

So Annet is requesting a Kiva loan to buy millet flour to prepare more bushera to sell. She plans to use the profits she earns to resolve the financial barriers in her life and help her relatives. In the future she hopes to open up a retail shop to boost her income. She is thankful to Kiva lenders who greatly improve her life.
