Louga_Samba Sadio Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy sheep, vaccines and livestock feed.

Louga_Samba Sadio Group's story

This group consists of three women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual support. They live in the same village and they seized the opportunity to register with the banc villageois when it launched in the area in December 2009. Their businesses are mostly in small trade.

Penda, who is pictured here on the right-hand side with her hand raised, is the group's representative member. She is 35 years old, married and has seven children, three of them girls. She raises livestock for fattening, and has a wealth of experience in this sector, having been active in it since the creation of the banc villageois.

With this loan she plans to buy sheep which she will then fatten for at least five months before selling on. For this she will also buy vaccines and livestock feed. With the profits this generates she plans to bolster her savings and to cover the basic needs of her and her children.
