Neema's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her rice selling business.

Neema's story

Neema is a 38-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband, children and mother in the Kilombero district of Tanzania.

She sells rice. With her first Kiva loan, Neema was able to start a rice selling business. She used the profit she earned to pay her children’s school fees and buy household supplies.

Neema is now requesting a second Kiva loan to expand her rice selling business. She plans to use the profit she earns to increase her capital, continue supporting her children, and grow her savings.

Neema will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and a half hours per week as a Camfed Learner Guide, facilitating classes from Camfed’s My Better World program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
