Winny's story

Meet Winny, a 21-year-old mother of 2 who has kept her head high, even when her life seemed to have hit rock bottom.

Winny has always dreamed of seeing her children successfully graduate from school. She works with a lot of determination so that she can achieve her dreams. She is an active woman who works in agriculture with skills that she learned from her parents. In addition to engaging in some small business activities, Winny has been a very hardworking mixed farmer for the past few years, growing crops and keeping dairy cows. Through these activities, she has been able to earn a decent and honest income.

The Kapcherop area has good climatic conditions that favor crop farming, and that is why Winny is seeking a loan to hire laborers and buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more crop, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a smallholder farmer and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her remote village, is very challenging, but Winny feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like her. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions.

Through your loan, all her dreams will be fulfilled.
