Zena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to start her own grocery store.

Zena's story

Zena is a 20-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her father and sister in the Ulanga district of Tanzania. She is requesting a Kiva loan to start her own grocery store. Zena plans to use the profit she earns to pay for her father’s basic needs and support her sister’s farming activities. Zena will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and a half hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
