Mildred's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more hair products and hair dryers so that she can meet the ever increasing demand.

Mildred's story

Mildred is a 32-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband, three siblings, and two children in the Samfya district of Zambia. She is an Early Childhood Education (ECE) activist.

Mildred runs a hair salon. With her first Kiva loan, Mildred purchased more equipment and some facial products for her salon. She used the profit she earned to pay school fees for her children and siblings, as well as meet her family’s daily needs.

Mildred is requesting a fourth loan to buy more hair products and hair dryers so that she can meet the ever increasing demand.

She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family.

Mildred will repay the ‘social interest’ on her fourth loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
