A loan helped to renovate the house and open a hostel.

Ekaterine's story

Ekaterine is a married woman, who has 2 children, a husband and parents-in-law. Ekaterine is 45 years old and has high education but was unable to find any stable job.

The family earns a living and rents a flat in the capital. As the existing income is not enough for the 6-member family and Ekaterine can't find a job, she has decided to start her own business. After several unsuccessful attempts, she applied for a credit from MFO Credo.

Ekaterine's request was approved under the framework of the Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva, permitting the rural poor to start or re-start businesses.

Ekaterine has also decided to renovate the house that the family owns, in one of the most popular resorts, especially for the children, and open a hostel, which will become the significant source of income during the holiday season.

The new business initiative that will be financed by Kiva lenders will greatly help the family by giving good education to their children and opportunities to become successful persons.
