Jardin De Maria Patzun Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to restock her inventory and buy clothing for children, women and men.

Jardin De Maria Patzun Group's story

The President of the Friendship Bridge trust bank Jardin de Maria Patzun in the department/state of Chimaltenango is 52-year-old Julia, who is the mother of two children (24 and 31 years old). She has gone to school for 10 years and was able to send her own children through high school. She sells clothing, shoes and personal care items via catalogue. Every 15 days, Julia delivers catalogue orders, noting which items are most in demand. Currently, she is requesting her second Kiva loan to restock her inventory and buy clothing for children, women and men.

There are seven Maya Kaqchikel ladies in the trust bank who have small restaurants where they cook delicious regional dishes. Others sell shoes, clothing, colorful handicrafts and textiles. After making payments on their loans, the women participate in monthly informative educational training, part of the Microcredit Plus program of loans, education and health care services. Topics are relevant to their lives and drawn from four areas: health, family, women and business. These women appreciate the opportunity to learn and often share the information with friends and family. They feel more informed and empowered.

Thank you, Kiva investors, for partnering with Friendship Bridge and helping Julia and her friends open doors to a brighter and more successful future.
