Omar Amin's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy fertilizers and other farming supplies in order to maintain his 1.05 hectares of coffee.

Omar Amin's story

Omar has been growing a coffee crop for more than seven years. He has a farm which covers 3.16 hectares, although only 1.05 hectares are growing fair trade certified coffee trees. During the last three years he has harvested, on average, 57 hundredweight of coffee per year. Last year Omar was obliged to sell part of his property in consequence of the political situation in which Nicaragua is currently immersed.

Thanks to the help of the technical team from PAC, his farm has excellent productivity and he harvests and exports high quality coffee.

As part of annual improvements to the farm, this year Omar will implement a program of nutritional improvements for his coffee trees. This is why he has applied for a loan which will enable the purchase of agricultural supplies such as calcium, boron, and zinc, as well as pay for field labor for the activities he needs to carry out.

This is his fourth loan cycle with PAC, and the previous loans have been paid off properly and on time.
