Dios Proveerá 4 Group's story

Marcelo is a Haitian immigrant who came to the Dominican Republic in search of better employment opportunities, fleeing the difficult economic situation of poverty that our Haitian neighbors live in.

Marcelo lives in a batey in the province of la Romana, A batey is a very poor village peopled mainly by Haitian immigrants.

Marcelo started selling charcoal, corn, peanuts and plantains. But he decided to introduce more products and make his business a grocery store in order to generate greater profits. Marcelo sells sauces, bread, oil, rice, beans, juice, milk and salami amongst others in his store.

Marcelo has seven children at home who are his motivation to go out and find their daily bread.

Marcelo had no chance to study and only made it to 2nd grade of basic education as his parents didn't have the resources to pay for his education.

Marcelo needs your help to buy merchandise to stock his store so he can continue to generate income and support his family.
