Palmis Eneji Sa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to import clean energy products such as solar lights or improved cookstoves for rural Haiti.

Palmis Eneji Sa's story

Palmis Enèji received its first loan from Kiva in May 2015. The social business enjoyed significant growth since 2016. In 2018, Palmis Enèji reached 11,000 households with quality and efficient products such as solar lanterns, improved biomass stoves and clean gas stoves. In April 2018, Palmis Enèji opened a new branch in Grande Anse, a rural department of the country that has been heavily affected by Hurricane Matthew. This year Palmis Enèji expects to expand its outreach in rural areas and access 5,000 additional households living far from the cities. In addition, the social business plans to address the needs of 10,000+ street cooks. These are women entrepreneurs serving meals to the vast majority of inhabitants of the capital. They cook mainly with charcoal which highly affects their health and has a strong impact on the biomass of the country. Palmis Enèji will provide appropriate professional gas stoves, combined with economic and vocational courses. Palmis Enèji is therefore requesting a new loan of 30,000 USD to support the customer demand.
