Fungisai's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her farming business, buying more maize and groundnuts for growing.

Fungisai's story

Fungisai is a 20-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her aunt in the Wedza district in Zimbabwe. Fungisai is a determined young woman taking life by its horns. She has been in difficult circumstances, having lost her mother at age 12, but she still managed to complete her O-level (high school) education.

Fungisai is requesting a Kiva loan in order to expand her farming business buying more maize and groundnuts for growing. Fungisai plans to use the profit she earns to buy medication for herself and to improve her lifestyle.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering for four hours per week as a Young Woman on Transition, shadowing and supporting two Learner Guides as they carry out sessions at schools and convene study groups in communities.
