A loan helped to access better sanitation facilities by constructing a toilet.

Koushalya's story

Koushalya is a 54-year-old married woman from a small village of Kendrapara district, Odisha. She has a family of six members and a monthly household income of 8,500 INR. She is a housewife and a mother. She has two children who attend the local school. Her home is not equipped with proper sanitation facilities. She wants to build a toilet for herself and her family. She does not want her family to feel the embarrassment of open defecation, and she is also well aware of the health hazards of it.

Since her income is minimal with little savings, she has applied for a loan of 25,000 INR from Gram Utthan, one of Milaap's field partners, to build the toilet. She and her family will be thankful to the lenders for their support.
