A loan helped to buy bales of rice, sugar, noodles, canned foods and mixed goods for her general store business.

Betsy's story

Betsy is 48 years old and is married with six children. They live in a rural community in Honiara, the capital of Solomon Island.

To earn a living, she runs a small general store business selling rice, noodles, canned foods and biscuits in her community. She has been in this business for six years.

Betsy has requested a loan to help her pay for additional bales of rice, sugar, noodles, canned foods and mixed goods to increase her stock and assist her in running her business.

She plans to use her profits to meet her family's weekly expenses and pay for her children's school fees.

She joined SPBD in 2013 to gain access to financial services.
