El Progreso 1 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped (a Haitian immigrant) to buy merchandise such as juices, soft drinks, biscuits, bread, panties, bras, skirts, dresses, pants, creams, etc. to stock her "ventorrillo" .

El Progreso 1 Group's story

Therese is a Hatian immigrant who came to the Dominican Republic with her sister 25 years ago, in search of better living conditions. The difficult situation of poverty in the neighboring country of Haiti means that many of its citizens have to leave for other countries to look for better opportunities in life; that is the case with Therese.

Therese is the mother of three children, who are her incentive to go out every day and do the best in her business, to help her family.

For two years, Therese has had a "ventorrillo" [small retail sales area] where she sells a great variety of items, such as juices, soft drinks, biscuits, bread; as well as clothing such as panties, bras, skirts, dresses, and pants; body creams, shampoos, hair accessories, combs, brushes, and more. The income from this business helps to provide for her family.

Therese never was able to attend school, because she grew up in great poverty, which kept her family from sending her to school. But this never stopped Therese from working and helping her family.

Therese dreams of having a prosperous business and getting out of poverty one day.

Therese needs your help to buy merchandise to stock her "ventorrillo".
