A loan helped to buy lemon juice and dried fish.

Ziguinchor_Petit Kandé Group's story

The banc villageois to which these seven women belong was launched in March 2001. Their businesses are largely in retail of various products.

Ndeye – pictured here on the right of the photo with her arm raised – is the group's representative. She is 50 years old and married with six children; three of them girls. She has been evolving her business over a number of years. With this loan she is planning to buy a large quantity of lemon juice and dried fish which she will sell from her home and in Dakar. The profits will help cover her daily living costs as well as schooling and healthcare for her children.
