Maletlapana Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to save money spent on fuel by enabling use of the ACE 1 cook stove, which also gives access to electricity, allowing for extra lighting at night and for charging of mobile devices.

Maletlapana Group's story

Mapuleng is a 39 year old woman, who lives in a multi-bedroom house, without access to electricity, with 3 other family members, including 1 child.

Mapuleng works as a primary school teacher but struggles with renovating her home. She spends most of her energy expenses on paraffin, mobile device charging fees, cooking gas, and wood, which costs up to 685 LSL per month. She also spends as much as 6 hours per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs, such as phone charging.

Mapuleng and the group in this village bought the ACE 1 cookstove. This helps them to save money they usually spend on fuel every month. It also provides access to solar electricity, which can additionally be used for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass and solar-powered.
