A loan helped to register his private primary school with the Ministry of Education.

Edson's story

Edson, as an educated man, is becoming innovative and creative in his area, and has come up with an idea for a fully registered school. Unfortunately, Edson has limited funds, and has therefore requested a loan to register his private primary school with the Ministry of Education.

Edson is a primary teacher by profession, and is employed by the government of Uganda. He is a 32-year-old married man with two school-going children living in Kagadi, Uganda.

Even though Edson is employed, his salary is too small to meet his needs. His salary is even delayed at times, causing income gaps and not enabling him to meet his family obligations.

To solve this challenge, he came up with an idea and started a private school. The school is now in existence for more than eight years, but is not yet fully recognized by the Ministry. Once the school registration is done, Edson will be able to enroll many students, as well as create jobs for other people (teaching and non teaching staff).
