A loan helped to raise sheep to sell.

Badenya-Ton Group's story

Dramane is the man who is holding the sheep in the photo. He is a 62-year-old, uneducated farmer in Mali. He is father to seven children between the ages of three and 25 years old. Three of his children are in school.

Dramane has been raising sheep for the past 20 years. He acquires them at his local market and resells them in the same marketplace. The profit he earns allows him to take care of certain family needs like having adequate, quality food. It also helps with his children’s education and medical costs. Providing for these needs fulfills his duty as head of the family.

Dramane is taking the loan with RMCR at this time in order to finance his business so that he can increase his profits. Although he is often confronted with the problem of the rising cost of animals related to supply, he feels confident in his business because he sees himself participating in the economic development of his community.

In the future, Dramane would like to be a large-scale livestock farmer and exporter of sheep.
