A loan helped to buy a mill machine to process maize in order to feed her family and also to sell maize flour in her community.

Isabel's story

Isabel is a 60-year-old Mozambican woman from Sofala Province. She lives in Boane, a district of Maputo Province, where she also runs her farm of maize of around one hectare.

Isabel is a well-known producer in her community. Besides maize as her main crop, she also produce vegetables such as cabbage, onion, tomatoes, carrots; and many women around her community buy her vegetables to sell in the near market.

Isabel counts on the support of her younger son and also her daughter-in-law, who help her with running her activities. Isabel likes to help others and see them grow. She dreams about producing maize flour that she could use to feed her family during the whole year and also to sell to other women around her community.

Isabel has not enough financial resources to make her dream come true. Therefore, she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy a mill machine to process maize in order to feed her family and also to sell maize flour in her community.

In the future, Isabel dreams of providing other services to her community from the use of a mill machine.
