Honiara, Capital Territory, Solomon Islands / Arts

Angella's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy bags of sea shells and a hand drill for her arts and crafts business.

Angella's story

Angella is a 40-year-old woman who is married with two children. They live in a community in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.

She has an arts and crafts marketing business where she makes shell money, necklaces and earrings from sea shells and sells them at the market to earn an income. She has been in this for more than ten years.

Angella has requested a loan to help her pay for additional bags of sea shells and a hand drill to make more shell money, necklaces and earrings to sell.

She plans to use her profits to meet her family's weekly expenses and pay for her children's school fees.

She became a member of SPBD in 2014 to gain access to financial services.
